Community involvement

Our school values strong partnerships with our families and community. Parents and carers can get involved through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) or by volunteering at our school. Your time and support help make our school a better place for everyone.

Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)

Kanwal Public School Parents and Citizens Association, or P&C, is a group of parents, carers, and people from the community who support our local public school. The P&C helps by raising money for things the school needs, like books, equipment, or special programs. They organise fun events like raffles and community events to bring families and the community together and to raise funds. The P&C gives parents a chance to work collaboratively with the school and share ideas.

Second-hand Uniform Stall

The P&C run our second-hand uniform stall, which is open the first and last Friday of every term from 8:25-8:50am. All items are $5 and cash and eftpos are available. If you are unable to make it to the stall, uniforms can be purchased at any time by contacting the P&C on kanwalpspc@gmail.com.

The P&C actively seek donations of second-hand uniforms to support families within the school community. They also offer a uniform swap service, allowing parents and students to exchange items for different sizes as needed. This initiative helps promote sustainability and ensures that all students have access to appropriate school attire.

Scholastic Book Club

The P&C run the Scholastic Book Club at school which involves organising and managing the ordering and distribution of books for students and families who want to buy books through the club. The money raised from the book club also helps support the school.

P&C meetings

The P&C meets regularly to contribute to decision-making, developing policies and management plans as well as fundraising and events.

Kanwal Public School P&C meet on Wednesday, Week 4 of every term at 3:30pm.

Volunteer at our school

Helping out at school is a great way to get involved in your school community.

Volunteer opportunities include:

• getting involved in the P&C
• volunteering on sports days and other school events
• helping supervise excursions.
