Our Community

Kanwal Public School is situated 10km north of Wyong on the Central Coast of NSW. The school serves a community that lies between the Pacific Highway and the shores of Tuggerah Lakes. The school was established in 1911.

The school is a member of the Wadalba Learning Community with an enrolment of 640 students, taught by a dedicated staff who provide quality teaching and learning programs. The school has a support staff catering for students with special needs.

Our Aboriginal student population is 12% and our school has strong links with the Ngara Aboriginal Consultative Group.

Kanwal Public School offers a broad range of extra-curricular activities including dance, drama, band and stringed instruments, environmental education, team sports, public speaking and debating and Aboriginal dance and didgeridoo groups.

The role of schools is to work in partnership with parents to provide an environment that encourages students to connect with each other and their community, so they can succeed and thrive. Parents, teachers and the community all play a role in fostering this environment.
