Kanwal Public School has an enthusiastic school band which meets once a week for rehearsals during the school term. The Band Director is Mr Rowen McBride. Our school band has performed at a variety of school events, had public performances and performs yearly in Band Fest.

Band Link 2017
Our Senior Band students attended two-days of workshops in Newcastle hosted by the Newcastle University Conservatorium of Music. This proved to be both an enjoyable and educational experience for all who attended.
The event concluded with an amazing concert in front of a huge audience, on the final day. With over 600 children attending from the Hunter and Central Coast School Band programs, the concert showcased five large bands with over 100 children in each.
Congratulations to our talented Kanwal kids who participated with enthusiasm and displayed outstanding behaviour over both days. We extend a big thank you to our wonderful parents for providing transport to the event.
Our fantastic Band Program includes students from Years 3 – 6 and is run by our very talented Musical Director, Rowen McBride (who was also a tutor at Band Link). On Tuesday 27th June we also showcased our Beginner Band students at their first public performance for family and friends. Well done to all of our mini-musicians for their patience and persistence at learning to master their chosen instrument.
