Lilly Wins NSW State Multicultural Perspectives Public Speaking Competition

A huge congratulations to Lilly W. in Year 3, for winning the NSW State Multicultural Perspectives Public Speaking Competition. Kanwal Public School is so proud of your amazing achievement Lilly.

Lilly presented her speech "Watch your language" at NSW Teachers Federation Conference Centre, Reservoir Street, Surry Hills on Friday the 26th October.

An excerpt from Lilly's speech:

"I'm sure we can all agree that I should be allowed to tell you my opinion. But.... what if I had an opinion that was harmful? What if the things I say could hurt you? What if I wanted to make fun of someone because they were born in another country, speak with an accent, wear different clothes, or follow a different religion to me? Unfortunately, some people believe free speech means they should be able to say whatever they want with NO consequences". Lilly W. Year 3
